Delighted birthday, Google: this 7 days in tech, twenty a long time back

1 of 1998’s biggest tech tales was the massive antitrust lawsuit versus Microsoft. It is Monopoly 7 days on The Verge, so I wrote a bit about that lawsuit’s put in the ‘90s authorized landscape. I also reviewed Antitrust, the 2001 thriller about a fictionalized Microsoft that murders software package builders to steal their code.

But today’s significant news involves yet another amazingly important, possibly monopolistic tech corporation: Google, which was launched on September 4th, 1998. To rejoice, you can check out out some “stickers” from one of Google’s earliest iterations. Or you can read on for news about movie star chat rooms, flame mail, and a North Korean satellite.
